Historic Northfield Cemetery
I discovered Northfield Cemetery while walking in downtown Stamford, CT. The land was gifted in 1787 "to be forever a burying place" and its graves primarily hold those who died over the ensuing century. I was drawn to the old tombstones, some in disrepair, and how they blended with the vegetation around them. Their tone and texture are historic, beautiful, and melancholy at the same time.
